WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired, infallible Word of God, and is the final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

THE GODHEAD
We believe there is one God, externally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; 1 John 5:7)

JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His humanity, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory to judge the living and the dead. (John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:26-28, 31-35; Rom. 3:24; 1 Peter 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Acts 1:9-11; Rom. 8:34; 1 Peter 4:5; Rom. 14:9; 2 Tim. 4:1)

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. (John 16:8-11; Rom. 8:9)

SALVATION
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but because of Adam’s sin the human race inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. We believe that man is totally depraved and is unable to remedy his lost condition on his own. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3, 12)

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, brought to man by God’s grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. (Eph. 2:8-10; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19; John 3:16; Rom. 5:8)
We believe that it is not necessary to experience a second work of grace subsequent to salvation, and that once saved, all the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40; John 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:4-5; Eph. 1:13-14)

WORKS
We believe that all who profess to be children of God and who love the Lord Jesus Christ should maintain good works and that all saved persons are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices. (1 John 2:3-5; Acts 26:19-20; 1 John 3:3; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Eph. 4:1; Rom. 12:1-2)
